Alberta Ferretti designed her first fashion collection in 1973 and founded her design house in 1974. By 1981 the designer’s collection was presented on Milan’s runways. Originally known for a flowy, romantic style, A. Ferretti introduced her Philosophy Jeans in 1984, and in 1993 debuted her accessory and fragrance lines.
